Drones are becoming a useful tool in search and rescue worldwide. Recently a drone was used to find a missing man in the Norfolk, UK and a drone was used to drop a life-saving float to two swimmers in Australia.
Infra-red cameras on drones are assisting fire-fighters in pin-pointing hot-spots, similarly, these heat sensitive cameras can be used to find missing persons without the need for helicopters or low-flying aircraft.
As the technology advances drones are able to quickly, safely and affordably carry out different types of support roles for emergency services.
BUAVA are releasing a set of informational slides to raise public awareness about drones in Barbados and the region.
